What is carer's leave?
Carer's leave is part of your personal/carer's leave entitlement under the Fair Work Act 2009. Full-time employees are entitled to 10 days per year (shared with sick leave) to care for an immediate family member or household member who is ill, injured, or has an unexpected emergency.
Immediate family includes spouse, child, parent, grandparent, grandchild, or sibling — and their spouse's family. Household members are anyone who lives with you.
